Oak table, 160x80x76, fully hand planed and finished with oil and wax. With this table, I decided to try ideas of removing unnecessary and ideas of Leon Battista Alberti and his use of simple proportions. For example, the space between legs, apron and ground makes a square, 1-1 ratio (610 mm). The top is very thin, just 2 cm, which makes it look and feel lightweight, like a petal, but plenty strong without unnecessary material. Legs are elegant, and taper half to the bottom, to save physical and visual weight. But don't be fooled, it is not wobbly, since wide apron with wide mortise and tenon joints makes the whole construction very rigid and stable in horizontal x-y axis. Apron width is not only functional, but it has aesthetical purpose as well: it visually balances the thin table top and legs.
